    Good

friendly staff, especially the lady on the reception

we had two small children with us and we were woken throughout the night by people shouting in the corridors and banging on doors, this went on until after 3am. not a very restful evening, couldn't wait to get home!

We liked the room lay out and the relaxed feel the hotel offered, the food and service were very good, great parking car near room door, staff polite and efficient,

At night the hotel was very noisy into the early hours (245am) and then the cleaning staff chatting at 8 am on a sunday rather annoying so not much sleep, this happened on both friday and saturday night so not a one off, the room was very hot on the lower floor and a little dark there is no window to open in the room to allow some air in only full size patio doors which would not be safe to leave open, would stay on first floor if stayed again

    Exceptional

very modern, first class comfort,in a wonderful country location, would reccomend it without hesitation will definitely go again

what I liked about the hotel was being able to park my car right outside my hotel room

    Fabulous

Superb bed linen/pillows. Good fresh food.

Reception missed the part of the order detailing that we had a small dog. On arrival she stated we had not booked for a dog and that it was possible they would not have a room for us. Having travelled almost 300 miles to get there I was at best 'disturbed' by this news. She was however, after some searching and alleged re-arranging, able to find a room suitable for us with our dog. On the positive side she rang us within minutes of entering our room to apologise stating she had now noticed the dog request on the booking.

    Superb

Easy to find with parking outside bedrooms. Friendly staff, good food and comfy, clean rooms.

  • 9.2
    Superb

The room was modern and very clean. The food and dining room staff were excellent. The hotel is very well situated for the Metro centre etc but far enough out in the beautifull countryside to take full advantage of attractions such as Beamish outdoor museum and East Tanfield steam railway. We thoroughly enjoyed our all too short stay.

No fridge in room. Although there was heating in the room there was no air conditioning, not very comfortable on one of the warmest nights of the year when the only means of ventillation in this ground floor room was a patio door opening on to the car park.
